  • Sustainability 71/100
Sustainability: 71 of 100. Source and reference date source: WLTP consumption 18.7 kWh/100km + Volvo battery warranty (8 yr/160,000 km) + LCA indication ICCT 2024 (higher consumption due to dual-motor + rougher aero) · reference date 2026-05-21

Reliability: insufficient data. Source and reference date source: Cross Country variant since 2025 on SEA platform; pre-facelift EX30 still young, insufficient long-term breakdown data · reference date 2026-05-21

DC charging time

Indicative DC charging time 10→80%, derived from battery capacity and charging power — not measured by us. Actual time depends on the charging curve, temperature and starting SoC.
Charging situation10→80% (min)
At model peak (158 kW) ~ 28
At a 150 kW charger ~ 29
At a 50 kW charger ~ 88
How is this calculated? We assume around 70% of the battery sits in the 10→80% window and an average power around 62% of peak (the curve tapers towards the end). At a fixed charger the power is capped to that charger. An estimate, not a manufacturer figure.

About the Volvo EX30 Cross Country (2025)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The EX30 Cross Country is the first SUV and the first EV in Volvo's Cross Country line-up, a sub-series traditionally reserved for raised estates such as the V60 Cross Country. The Cross Country sits on the same SEA platform as the standard EX30 and the Smart #1, with a ride height raised by 19 mm to roughly 190 mm of ground clearance, plus rugged bumpers, skid plates and wheel-arch extensions. The dark front shield carries the topographical map of an Arctic Swedish mountain range as a styling cue. European deliveries started in 2025.

In practice

Available only as Twin Motor Performance with all-wheel drive: 315 kW (428 PS), 543 Nm and 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds (manufacturer figure). Battery is 69 kWh gross / 65 kWh usable, WLTP around 427 km. DC charging peaks at 158 kW, 10-80% in roughly 27 minutes (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). The boot is unchanged at 318 litres versus the standard EX30, expanding to about 904 litres with the rear seats folded. Braked towing capacity is 1,600 kg. The Dutch indicative starting price sits at 52,995 euro, a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

The added power and the dual-motor drivetrain make this a heavy variant for the boot you get; if you do not need 428 PS, the single-motor Extended-Range EX30 offers significantly more range per euro. The 19 mm ride-height increase and the skid plates are mostly styling: this is a light SUV with no low-range gearing, not a serious off-roader. The screen-only control philosophy of the standard EX30 carries over. Take a test drive at the official Volvo dealer and pay attention to the screen controls and the rearward view.
