About the Volkswagen T-Roc (2026)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

Second generation of the T-Roc, developed in Wolfsburg and built in Portugal. Ordering opened in the Netherlands on 1 October 2025, with the first cars at dealers from 5 December 2025. The body grew 12 cm in length to 4,372 mm and the wheelbase 3 cm to 2,629 mm. For now the only powertrain is the 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid four-cylinder with a 7-speed DSG, in 85 kW/116 hp or 110 kW/150 hp. A full hybrid has been announced for autumn 2026.

In practice

Boot 475 litres with the rear seats up and 1,350 litres folded, measured to ISO 3832 (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). WLTP combined consumption is 5.5 to 5.7 l/100km for the 116 hp and 5.6 to 5.7 l/100km for the 150 hp, with CO2 emissions of 126 to 130 g/km depending on trim and wheels (manufacturer figure, not measured by us). Braked towing weight is 1,300 kg for the 116 hp and 1,500 kg for the 150 hp. Zero to 100 km/h takes 10.6 and 8.9 seconds respectively, top speed 196 and 212 km/h. Fuel tank 50 litres, turning circle 11.1 m. The indicative starting price is 36,990 euro for the Limited Edition with 116 hp (official price list of 27 May 2026), a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

The price list of 1 January 2026 started at 37,990 euro for the Trend First Edition; since 27 May 2026 the cheapest listed version is the Limited Edition with 116 hp at 36,990 euro. That is a different specification, not a straight price cut on the same car. The model has only been on the road since late 2025, so reliability and residual-value figures over a full ownership period are not yet available. Volkswagen states that the quoted consumption and CO2 figures apply to the base version without packages or optional wheels; options raise CO2 and therefore the Dutch bpm tax and the consumer price (Volkswagen Netherlands price list, reference date 27-5-2026, indicative). The 116 hp version tows 200 kg less than the 150 hp version, which matters if a trailer is part of the plan.
