About the Volkswagen Touareg III (facelift 2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The third Touareg generation has been on the market since 2018 and got a thorough facelift in 2024. The platform (MLB-evo) is shared with the Audi Q7 and the Porsche Cayenne. The drivetrain is either a 3.0 V6 TSI with 48V mild hybrid, or a V6 TDI; both come with 4Motion all-wheel drive and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic.
In practice
WLTP consumption for the V6 TSI eHybrid is around 9.5 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us); owners report 10-11 l/100km mixed (owner forums, not measured by us). The braked towing weight of 3,500 kg is high for the class, useful for caravans and horse trailers. Boot 810 l with the rear bench up. The indicative starting price rose from about 76,500 euro (reference date early 2024) to 79,990 euro now, a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.
Points to note
The 48V mild hybrid supports the V6 but does not drive independently on electricity; a full plug-in is no longer offered after the facelift on this market. The infotainment uses a curved double screen with mostly touch controls; whether that works well is a matter of taste, check it on a test drive at the official dealer. Air suspension is optional and raises the price step noticeably.
