About the Xpeng G9 (2024)
Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.
The G9 is Xpeng's full size electric SUV for EU markets, with the EU refresh launched in 2024. It sits on the Smart Electric Platform Architecture (SEPA) 2.0 with an 800 V electrical system and Euro NCAP approved structural design (tested 2023). The Long Range RWD variant pairs a 98 kWh NMC battery with a 313 hp rear motor for a WLTP range of 570 km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us); AWD variants reach considerably higher power. DC charging peaks at around 300 kW, with the manufacturer claiming 10 to 80 percent in roughly 20 minutes on a sufficiently powerful charger.
In practice
WLTP consumption is around 19.8 kWh/100km (manufacturer figure). Owner reports in EU markets remain limited; early independent road tests in EU outlets place real world figures around 20 to 22 kWh/100km, with motorway and winter driving pushing higher (small sample, not measured by us). The boot takes 660 l with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,576 l folded, plus a 71 l frunk. Braked towing weight is up to 1,500 kg for some specifications; check the official spec sheet for confirmation per market.
Points to note
The G9 uses Xpeng's XOS infotainment with a 14.96 inch central screen and an additional driver display. ADAS functions in EU markets are progressively unlocked via OTA updates, with feature availability varying per country and regulation. The Xpeng service network in EU markets is still being built up; check the nearest service point at the official dealer. The model has been on the EU market too short for an extensive ADAC failure statistic, and the residual value curve is not yet stable.
