About the Kia Ceed (2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The Ceed is a C-segment hatchback that competes with the Volkswagen Golf, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia. The recent facelift of the third generation brought a revised front, slimmer light signatures and a small infotainment update. The common engine is a 1.5 T-GDI four-cylinder with 48V mild-hybrid support around 140 hp, often combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch. WLTP consumption stands at about 6.0 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us).

In practice

The boot is 395 l, a touch under the Volkswagen Golf and well under the Skoda Octavia, useful for everyday commuting and a small family. The car has five seats; the rear bench is suited to two adults on a normal trip. Owners report real-world consumption in mixed use that is 0.5 to 1.2 l above WLTP, depending on the motorway share (public forums, not measured by us). The indicative list price rose from about 25,995 euro (peildatum early 2024) to 26,995 euro now, a from-price, no offer and no forecast.

Points to note

The braked towing weight of 1,400 kg is reasonable for the segment, enough for a small caravan or a heavier trailer. The Ceed is also available as a Sportswagon estate with a noticeably larger boot; compare both bodies if load volume matters. Kia's 7-year warranty is a strong point compared with the 2- to 3-year warranty of most C-segment competitors.
