About the Suzuki Swift (2024)

Independent spec and rating reference. No offers, no sales.

The fourth-generation Swift (from 2024) runs on a 1.2 three-cylinder with mild-hybrid support, around 83 hp. Not a full hybrid, no plug: the 12V/mild hybrid helps with pulling away but does not drive on electric power alone. The low weight is the design starting point and translates into a low WLTP fuel use of about 4.4 l/100km (manufacturer figure, not measured by us).

In practice

In the city and on mixed trips the fuel use stays low, partly because of the low weight. The power reserve is modest; when fully loaded or overtaking on the motorway the engine has to rev hard. The braked towing weight is about 1,000 kg. The indicative list price rose from about 20,495 euro (peildatum mid 2024) to 21,495 euro now, a starting price, not an offer and not a forecast.

Points to note

The boot is small for the B-segment at 265 litres. The interior is functional but more plainly finished than at more expensive competitors, a recurring point in owner reviews. On the motorway the three-cylinder is audible at higher speeds, weigh this up if you drive a lot outside the city.
