Who they are

A short write-up on each car, one paragraph apiece. We describe them on their own terms rather than picking a winner.

Profile · SK3 (2024+)

Kia EV3

Compact electric crossover on a 400V architecture, first generation. WLTP range around 605 km for the Long Range with 81.4 kWh battery (manufacturer figure). DC charging peak around 128 kW, lower than on the 800V models EV6/Ioniq 5, which makes fast charging take longer. Braked towing weight 1,000 kg. Indicative from-price; check the official configurator for the current figure.

Profile · Hatchback 81,4 kWh (EU-spec 2025+, E-GMP 400V)

Kia EV4

Compact electric hatchback from Kia on the E-GMP platform in 400V architecture (no 800V fast charging like the EV6 or EV9). World premiere on 17 February 2025; the European hatchback has been built in Žilina, Slovakia, since August 2025, the first Kia EV built in Europe. The tested 81.4 kWh version reaches around 625 km WLTP with 78 kWh usable and 150 kW (204 hp). DC charging peaks around 135 kW, boot 435 litres (1,415 l with seats folded). 1,000 kg braked towing capacity. Indicative from-price for the Netherlands; check the official configurator for the current figure.
