Who they are

A short write-up on each car, one paragraph apiece. We describe them on their own terms rather than picking a winner.

Profile · Mk4 1.5 EcoBlue diesel (2018-2022)

Ford Focus

C-segment hatchback, fourth generation on the C2 platform. The 1.5 EcoBlue diesel with 120 hp was delivered between 2018 and around 2022; after that the diesel disappeared from the Dutch range. Reference model for spec look-up and switch orientation from an older model. WLTP consumption around 4.4 l/100km (manufacturer figure, indicative); diesel stays economical over long distance. No new price and no buy button, we are not a marketplace.

Profile · (VI, 2022+)

Ford Ranger

Sixth-generation Ranger with a 2.0 EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel, up to 3,500 kg towing capacity and a wider load bed (manufacturer figure, indicative). Available as XLT, Wildtrak and Raptor with permanent four-wheel drive.
